Standard of Living and Economic Concepts
It is important to know about standard of living because you will be better at comparing countries and you will know which country is more developed than the other. You can also better analyze the differences between the countries. If you know the country’s data, then you can better make predictions on what standard of living the country is. Knowing this, you can know what the country is struggling with and what their strengths are. By using the five themes of geography, you can better analyze the ideas about economics and standard of living because if you have human environment interaction in a certain place, like hunting animals, that would result in a underdeveloped country because they don’t have enough food that they have to hunt. Or if you have movement between two different countries like trade, so that everybody can meet their needs and wants, that means that if some countries trade, then they may have either a developing or developed standard of living. If you are using location, then you can see if the country is near a body of water which means the country would be able to meet the basic needs if they trade or they could fish.

5 Themes of Geography
The theme that is the most difficult is Location because I am pretty good at the other themes but I am not understanding location that much. This theme is hard for me because, does it mean like the exact coordinates of a specific place because place also means an specific spot but region has a lot of places in a spot? The other themes of geography are pretty good and I can really explain Human Environment Interaction really good.

The five themes of geography helps us to analyze the world better by telling us where each place is and the connection and relationships between the people and the Earth.
For example:
Location is the absolute of relative location of a place, absolute location is coordinates of an place and relative location is when you use the scale on an map to find the distance between two locations/coordinates
Place- is the human and physical characteristics of an place like the buildings people build is an example of a human features/characteristics, physical characteristics is like a mountain
Movement- when people trade all around the world
Humans and the environment- people adapt by putting a jacket on when it's cold outside, people alter the world by polluting the air, people use the land by cutting down wood.
Region- The areas and the human and physical characteristics

Maps Skill Reflection
I find the cardinal directions the easiest because they were the basic directions- North, South, East, West, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, Southwest. The continents and oceans are also easy because if you really think about it, the Western Hemisphere are the America’s and then the Northern Hemisphere is North America and the Southern Hemisphere is South America. Africa is in the middle and then Europe is connected to Asia which is kind of above Australia. The oceans if you really think about it, Southern Ocean is near Antarctica, and the Indian Ocean is near India, Arctic- North, Pacific- on both sides, Atlantic-in the middle. Also I know the continents and oceans by heart so it’s really easy. The map key and the legend is also easy because once you follow the map key on what color is which part of the map like if you are looking at an physical map, then maybe yellow would code the mountain ranges all around the world. The most difficult thing was the coordinates, to find the coordinates and to locate what the question was asking was tough because I might have been a few numbers off which would mess up the place that I had to find. Basic map skills are necessary because they help you understand the world around us more and if you need to navigate yourself on a drive to somewhere like New Hampshire or Maine, you might need to know the certain land features you come across(ex.- White mountains) to help you find yourself (where you are) on the map.
